Intervention Services for Schools

A range of intervention services for young people and schools in Devon.

Running Deer is a DfE registered independent school (registration number: 878/6067) working with young people with Special Educational Needs including social, emotional and specific learning difficulties.

We work closely with professionals, parents and carers to ensure that their additional needs are addressed through one, or a combination of our intervention services. Support is individually tailored to the needs of the young person.

We place a strong focus on the therapeutic pathway; enabling them to re-engage in education, whilst at the same time addressing their social, emotional and/or behavioural needs.

Our staff

All our staff working directly with children and young people have the following certificates and training:

  • Enhanced DBS certificate for children and adult workforce.
  • Safeguarding Children Level 2.
  • GSA Physical Interventions and De-escalation 3 day course.
  • First Aid in the Workplace Level 3.
  • Activity (Outdoor) First Aid Level 2.
  • Child protection training.
  • Health and Safety training.
