Government, NHS, & DfE Advice
In light of the latest instruction from the Government, in effect locking down the country for the health and safety of its citizens, Running Deer CIC and Running Deer School will be closed until such time that the crisis has passed and we are permitted to open.
We will, however, continue to support our students in a variety of ways including a comprehensive and closely monitored package of education delivered by our teachers including:
- Directed and self-directed e-learning (dependant upon the learning)
- Workbooks and packs which will be posted to students
- Virtual lessons with our teachers
- Students will have an appointed contact (teachers) to get assistance with work during school hours
- The Pastoral Lead will make a welfare call to every student on a daily basis
- We will provide additional support to students who have key workers as parents, where possible
Whilst we understand that all of our students have EHC updated guidelines from the department for education clearly states ‘Many children and young people with EHC plans can safely remain at home”

Stay safe and well
These are unprecedented times and we do not know how long this crisis will go on for. We are guided by the Government and what actions we must take in order to keep people safe and well.
Running Deer School want to get our students back into their regular routine as soon as possible so we will keep parents and carers updated regularly.
Most importantly – keep safe, keep well and help to support the NHS and their staff by following government guidelines.
Please keep in touch
We would love it if our students could send us photos and blogs for our website and facebook page… it’s a great way of keeping in touch with each other!
Writing a blog: we have had poems and articles from students… we would love to see more! Take a look at our news page https://www.runningdeer.org.uk/news for inspirational ideas!
