Life often seems to be full of demands and pressures with little time to stop, to recharge and enjoy being in the moment. These moments, however fleeting are so important.
This rainbow appeared during a staff meeting and once someone spotted it we all stopped to look and admire it. This happens frequently during the day with our students. It is these ‘accidental’ experiences that will often provoke the most interesting discussions, debates and learning opportunities, it breathes life into our curriculum, showing our students the relevance of learning in a practical application.
They fully experience the wonders of nature first hand, not all of it comfortable particularly at this cold time of year. Our students don’t just learn from books and we have limited internet access due to our location, so our woodland is our laboratory, observatory and arguably our greatest teacher.
